In the last five years, ECC has completed munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) clearance construction support services on 50 project sites within Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Our expedited MEC services ensure that construction activities are safe and commence in a timely manner. For example, ECC performed a 12.7-mile full MEC clearance ahead of construction from the Tiyan fuel pump house to Andersen AFB and the Piti Duct Bank, including along pipelines, cathodic protection locations, bell holes, bore pits, duct banks, electrical manholes, and other features. The project required our MEC experts to perform work at night and through occupied neighborhoods. The project was performed to a target of interest of a 20mm projectile, in 6-inch layers to a depth of 5 feet.
