As part of the $2.3 billion Earthquake Recovery Program at the Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake, ECC constructed, operated, and maintained an 850-person temporary housing and full berthing camp for other US Navy contractors’ workforces supporting the effort. In a little more than four months, ECC constructed accommodations for the first 400 residents, as well as completed each of the three 150-resident options on time, while meeting the US Navy’s unique specifications and overcoming COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and challenges. Supporting infrastructure included dining, recreation, laundry, check-in, administrative, and other supporting facilities. After the design, modular housing manufacture, and construction of the camp were complete, ECC performed facility services, including management and administration, unaccompanied housing, facility investment, custodial, pest control, integrated solid waste management, grounds maintenance, landscaping, pavement clearance, and wastewater and water services.
