ECC has performed multiple performance-based investigations, remediation, and long-term monitoring at a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) Superfund/ National Priorities List (NPL) site containing five large hexogen (RDX)/trinitrotoluene (TNT) plumes. ECC performed remedial actions/optimization at two groundwater treatment plants; executed quarterly land use control inspections of 56 soil caps, two landfills, and one munitions site; abandoned 164 monitoring and extraction wells; treated over 11 billion gallons of RDX/TNT-impacted groundwater; and removed over 36,000 pounds of explosives. ECC has also performed remedial investigation work for per- and polyfluorinated substances at a former Fire Station which included a quality assurance project plan/work plan, field investigation and human health risk assessment. ECC also performed a second remedial investigation that included a data gap analysis of RDX/TNT at soil caps sitewide, work plan, field investigation, human health risk assessment, and decision document. The team received the National Safety Council Safety Leadership Award for conducting safe operations at this installation.
